Bio

Regan Richardson is a Ph.D. student in Operations Research at NC State University. She is driven by a desire to leverage data science and quantitative modeling to address pressing public health challenges. Her research spans causal discovery applications in drug-market violence and overdose rates following police intervention, as well as immune system modeling for HIV prevention, treatment, and cure strategies. Outside of research, she finds balance by taking ballet classes and attending concerts.

Area(s) of Expertise

Richardson's research applies causal inference to evaluate the systemic effects of law enforcement interventions on drug-market violence and overdose mortality. Moving forward, her focus includes developing and improving causal discovery methodologies. Additionally, she conducts mechanistic and computational immune system modeling for Lymphoid Follicle-on-a-Chip systems in collaboration with the Duke Center for AIDS Research (CFAR).
