Who do I talk to regarding my registration, etc?

When does preregistration advising begin and how do I get advised?
- Check the university registration calendar for official dates https://studentservices.ncsu.edu/calendars/.
- If you are a new student, contact OR director Maria Mayorga at memayorg@ncsu.edu. If you are unsure who your advisor is, contact our program coordinator at operationsresearch@ncsu.edu.
Can my OR adviser help me get into non-OR courses?
No. Only administrators in the department offering a course can add or remove you from classes in that department.

Holds FAQ
I have an advising hold on my account. How do I get it removed?
- Prepare the necessary advising paperwork as directed, Academic Advisement Form.
- You need to see your advisor to get the Advisement Term Hold released.

About Operations Research Degrees

The program offers three advanced degrees and two minors:
- Master of Operations Research (on-campus and online) (non-thesis)
- Master of Science in Operations Research (thesis)
- Ph.D. in Operations Research
- Operations Research Minor (MS)
- Operations Research Minor (Ph.D.)
Furthermore, you can often secure teaching and research assistant positions across various departments such as computer science, electrical and computer engineering, industrial and systems engineering, mathematics, and statistics.
