Giving Back

Last Updated: 07/11/2024 | All information is accurate and still up-to-date

Our alumni and friends’ capacity for giving back fuels innovation in education and research.

When you give to our program, you empower students and faculty to achieve their dreams and enhance their lives. Your support can fund scholarships, fellowships, professorships, academic programs and faculty research. These initiatives often go beyond state funding. Your generosity enables OR to excel in research, teaching and public engagement.

Thank you for your support!

OR Enhancement Fund

The OR Enhancement Fund supports crucial discretionary needs in our program. Each year brings uncertain resources and unexpected opportunities. These funds enable the OR Director to swiftly address challenges and seize new opportunities. Recently, these funds have:

  • Recognized student achievements
  • Supported staff and faculty
  • Developed new courses and programs
  • And much more

Your generosity directly impacts students’ education and future, fostering advancements in industrial engineering.

A donation of $1,000 or more to the OR Enhancement Fund qualifies you for membership in the Engineering Foundation’s Dean’s Circle. This society recognizes gifts supporting the College of Engineering and its departments.

Invest in the Future
To sustain our research and educational excellence, we must foster innovative research and nurture future global leaders.

Endowed Professorships

Endowed professorships attract and keep talented research faculty by funding salaries, research, and support like graduate assistants and equipment. The North Carolina General Assembly matches funds for distinguished professorships, emphasizing their impact on education, the economy, and the state.

For more information about levels of endowed professorships, see NC State’s Engineering Foundation’s Faculty Support.

Graduate Fellowships

Graduate students drive innovation in research-focused engineering schools like ours. To attract top students, private support is crucial. These students innovate, potentially benefiting North Carolina’s economy long-term. Endowing a graduate fellowship, named for the donor indefinitely, starts at $300,000.

For more information about levels of endowed professorships, see NC State’s Engineering Foundation’s Graduate Fellowships.

Merit- and Need-based Scholarships

Endowed scholarships let donors make a significant impact on many lives. They help us attract top students from North Carolina and beyond, shaping them into tomorrow’s leaders. A $150,000 endowment generates income equal to a year of tuition and fees. Scholarships can start with a minimum of $25,000.

For more information about levels of endowed professorships, see NC State’s Engineering Foundation’s Graduate Fellowships.
