How do I apply for financial aid?

Please complete the FAFSA® (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) at https://fafsa.gov/. It’s both free and quick to complete and submit. For further details, visit NC State’s Applying for Aid page.

Can I get an estimate of the aid I may receive?

You can use the Net Price Calculator to effectively estimate your financial aid and out-of-pocket expenses. This tool provides a helpful way to plan your budget and understand potential costs.

I submitted my FAFSA. How do I know if you need anything else from me?

If we require additional information, you will receive a letter from this office. Follow-up requests will be communicated via email. Additionally, you can check your financial aid status online through MyPack Portal.

Is funding available for doctoral students? For international students?

Yes, top applicants may receive funding offers, typically through teaching assistantships or fellowships.

How will I know if I’ve been awarded financial aid, and when should I expect to be notified?

Upon submitting the FAFSA and required documents by March 1, you should anticipate receiving an award decision by the first week of April. You will receive an email at your NC State email address to notify you. Additionally, awards can be viewed on the MyPack Portal under the My Financial Aid section.
